You don’t need design software or a subscription to make a good-looking calendar. With a free online calendar maker you can go from a blank page to a print-ready PDF in about five minutes. 1. Decide between a yearly and a monthly calendar
A yearly calendar puts all twelve months on one page. It is ideal for long-range planning: vacations, school terms, project deadlines and birthdays you want to see at a glance. A monthly calendar gives each month its own page, with large date boxes you can actually write in. Most people who plan day to day prefer monthly pages; most people who plan by quarter prefer a single yearly page. Many use both: a yearly page on the wall and monthly pages in a binder.
2. Pick a layout that fits where it will hang
- Classic — a bordered grid that reads well from a desk or a fridge.
- Minimal — no grid lines and light type. It looks calm and uses less ink.
- Bold header — a color band across the top that stands out on an office or classroom wall.
- Planner — a monthly page with a side column for goals, to-dos and notes.
Portrait suits fridges, doors and binders. Landscape suits desks, notice boards and wide wall spaces.
3. Choose paper size and week start

4. Add holidays, moon phases and a title
Public holidays and observed days off are marked automatically, so you can spot long weekends early. Observances such as Mother’s Day or daylight saving time can be shown or hidden. Monthly pages can also show moon phases. In the calendar maker you can add a title such as a family name, a team or a class.
5. Download and print
